It’s been quite a while since Hydreigon and I beat the elite four and seen our friends, so we decided to travel around again. We met up with them during the trip and hung out, with some battles once in a while. Calem and I agreed to meet up in Lumiose City, and we did. I was waiting near the gym entrance of Prism Tower with Hydreigon since it was easy to spot out. For some reason, Hydreigon seemed upset about this.

“Hey _______!” I turned my head to the owner of the voice.

“Hey Calem! It's been a while!” He stopped a few feet from us and smiled.

“Yeah it has. I see you two have gotten stronger since the last time we met. Zweilous even evolved into a Hydreigon!” He chuckled and I giggled along with him. Hydreigon just huffed in response. Calem looked at him and cocked an eyebrow. “Anything wrong, Hydreigon?” Hydreigon shook his heads with an irritated look.

“Hydreigon's been acting a bit weird lately. It might be from the nonstop traveling and chats with some people.”

“That might be it. Anyways, should we get going?” I nodded and we went on with our trip throughout the city.

We went to some stores, ate some croquettes, battled at some of the restaurants and hung out at some of the cafés. It seemed like a fun day to me, but for some reason, Hydreigon had been really irritated the entire time. It made the both of us worried for him, but when we tried to ask him about it, he shrugged it off.

“Today was fun, Calem. We should hang out more often.” I spoke to him as we sat at one of the cafés.

“Yeah. Well, I got to get going now.” He left money for his portion and stood up.

“Alright. You know, I’m surprised that we didn’t have a battle against each other today.” I chuckled along with him.

“I know. I actually just wanted a relaxing day with you.” He smiled and left. I waved as he did.

I then turned my attention towards Hydreigon.

“He's gone now. So now can you tell me why you're acting so weird? I'm worried about you.”

He huffed.

“Come on. Stop being so stubborn. You seem like you're jealous or something.”

He stopped for a moment, then shook his heads and angrily spoke some things to try to explain something. Sadly, I had no idea what he was trying to say.

-Hydreigon's POV-

“You have no idea how irritating it is to see you with all these guys! They're clearly hitting on you! I don't want you to deal with someone else breaking your heart!” was what I was trying to say.

“Honestly, I don't see why you're jealous. They're just my friends.” She took a sip of her drink nonchalantly and stared at the streets.

“Why are you so oblivious?! They CLEARLY have a thing for you!” I started roaring a bit louder, not even caring about how she couldn't understand me.

“Hydreigon! C-calm down! You're making a big fuss and people are starting to stare. You don't have to get so worked up about this...”

“Well too late now! How can you be so stupid about other people's feelings?! And you're just embarrassed about me being worked up about this?! You dense idiot!” With one last huff, I lifted myself up and flew away, not even looking back. I heard her yell for me, but I needed time alone to calm down.

-Reader's POV-

“Hydreigon! Hydreigon!” I tried to chase after him, but after a while, I lost him.

I ran around the city all day to look for him. I even asked strangers if they saw him. It soon got dark, so I had to give up for the day and head to the hotel to rest. I wanted to find him as soon as could, but it'd be bad for me to be sleep deprived, out on the streets alone. I got to my room and changed into my sleepwear. Before I went to sleep, I saw a shooting star from the window.

“Please be come back soon, Hydreigon.” I went under the covers and fell asleep.

-Hydreigon's POV-

“That idiot better be alright without me. She better not have gotten hit on again. Who knows what she'd have done without me...” I sat on a tree branch that was able to hold my weight after flying away to calm down. “It's gotten dark now... Maybe I should just stay here and sleep for the night.” I looked up at the sky and saw a shooting star. “Oh a shooting star. What did _______ say about them again? Oh yeah, if I wish on a shooting star, then it will be granted. I think that was it. Okay, here goes. I wish I could protect _______ better, maybe by being human or something." I gave a nod at my wish and fell asleep.

The next morning, I was awoken by someone shaking me. I growled and swatted their hands away.

“Excuse me sir, but are you alright? It looks like you've slept here all night!” A familiar voice spoke. Surprised, I immediately opened my eyes and saw _______ staring at me.

“_______!!” I yelled as I jumped up and grabbed her shoulders. “You idiot! Why the heck are you so oblivious?! Did anyone do anything to you while I was gone?!”

“Who are you, and how do you know my name?! And why are you yelling at me?! I was only trying to stop you from catching a cold from sleeping here!”

“Are you blind too?! I AM Hydreigon! -wait a minute, you can understand me?”

“You can't be Hydreigon, ‘cause Hydreigon's a pokemon, and you 're a human, so of course I can understand you! Now let go of me, you insane guy, so I can go continue looking for my Hydreigon!” My eyes widened and I let go of her, inspecting my new form. I was indeed human now, and luckily clothed.

“OH MY ARCEUS! I REALLY AM A HUMAN!!!” My outburst made _______ jump a bit.

“Okaaaayyy... I'll just be going now and leave you be.." She started walking away. I started to panic.

“No, wait!!” I ran after her and grabbed her shoulders again to make her face me. “I know this might sound crazy, but I really am your Hydreigon...” I stared at her, hopefully.

“....Did you really think I would believe that?” She gave me a glare that could make a Pyroar whimper. “You yell at me, somehow knowing my name, insult me, and now you say that you're my Hydreigon? Do you think I'm that stupid? Now let go of me before I get the cops!” She tried to get out of my grip, but I held on. If I didn't, I would lose her.

“Please believe me. I made a wish on a shooting star last night. I wanted to be able to protect you better than I could before from all these guys.” I leaned in closer to her, staring in her eyes in hopes that she would see the truth and sincerity in my eyes.

“...Then prove it. Prove to me that you're my Hydreigon by telling me something he'd know.” Her eyes softened a bit and I smiled.

“We met when I was a deino and you were a kid. I would always stick with you from morning to night, and I would try to defend you in any situation. You also had a plush of (favorite pokemon) on your bed.”

“You really are my Hydreigon...” She stopped her glare and stayed to smile. “You know that I was so worried about you, that I had a hard time sleeping last night, right?”

“I'm sorry that I flew off. I needed to calm down. I'm sorry for making you so worried.” I gave her a hug and she turned a bit pink.

“Hydreigon! P-Please don't hug me! It's still weird to have a stranger hug me!” I chuckled at her reaction. It was pretty cute, in all honesty.

“But you would be fine when I did it as a pokemon... And besides, I'm no stranger, I'm your Hydreigon.” I nuzzled my face into the crook of her neck; inhaling her scent and making her blush even more. She pushed herself out of my grip.

“Y-you hugged me, b-but never did you do that! Where did that even come from?!” I laughed.

“I just had to! You look adorable when you're flustered! It's funny to see you like that too!” I gripped my stomach from laughing so much. I earned a punch to the head from her.

-Reader's POV-

I stared at Hydreigon's form that was now curled up from the pain.

“This guy, I swear... -Though he does look kind of attractive as a human now." My face turned pink as I realized what I was thinking. I shook my head. "No, no, no, he's my pokemon, well, used to be. I can't be thinking of these things. It's weird.” Then, the realization dawned on me.

“Anyways, now that you’re human, you have nothing to hold you back. You can leave me now.” I looked down at my feet to hide my face and possible tears from him. I awaited his answer to leave me.

“But… I don’t want to leave you.” Before I could even respond, I felt his arms around me once more. “We’ve been together for so long. Do you think I would just up and leave you?” He chuckled and hugged me closer. “I’d never leave you… ever.”

I smiled and hugged him back. “Great. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

It’s been a while since we’ve begun our travels with a humanized Hydreigon. Hydreigon, or “Drey” as we call him now, has been helpful on our travels. My parents were shocked to see him now as a human, but knowing how close we were, they didn't mind it. Though, having him off the team did cost us some power, but with the two of us being able to have teams of 6 now, it wasn't that much of blow I lent him some of my pokemon to battle with, mainly the ones he was friends with, so they'd have an easier time being a team.

Life wasn't that bad with him. He was pretty useful to have around anyways. Housework time and berry picking time was split in half and battle money was doubled, however price for rooms and dinners doubled. We stuck by each other just like we used to... except when we go to sleep. I still remember the first time he wanted to sleep with me as a human.

“BUT ___________________________.... You would let me sleep with you back when I was a pokemoooooon...!”

“THAT'S BECAUSE YOU WERE A POKEMON! NOW THAT YOU'RE A HUMAN, IT'S JUST EMBARRASSING!” I yelled at him as I tried to keep him out of my room for the night.

“Why is it so different now that I'm a human? I've even seen you naked before.” I blushed bright red.

“Well that was when I was a kid! It's totally different now! You're a human! You need to wear clothes and not thrash about and not say things like that!”

“I've kept my clothes on the entire time since I became human today! Why can't I sleep with you?!” He pouted at me cutely, which made me blush even more.

“Because, for humans, they only sleep with the ones they are close to!”

“....I thought we are close though....” He stopped trying and stepped away. I could feel my heart breaking at the sight. “I guess not anymore...”

“No! Nononono! It's not like that. We still are close! But-”

“But what? If we still are close, then you should let me sleep with you.” I felt his arms wrap around my waist and his head nuzzle into my hair. My face couldn't be redder. “Pweas?”

“Y-You know that “cute” act doesn't work on me... but fine. Only for tonight, though!” I tried to hide my face from him by squirming out of his hug and walking to my closet. “L-Lets just get you soon be pj's for tonight. I think I have some large unisex clothes for you. We can go shop for male clothes tomorrow for you." I picked the clothes or and threw them at him. “You can change in here while I go get changed mysel-aaAAAHHHH!!” Just as I turned around with my clothes, I found him shirtless, about to take off his pants. “Change after I leave the room!” I covered my face with my clothes and rushed out.

“_______! Wait!” I stopped and looked back at him poking his head out of the doorway, a bit pink, might I add.

“What is it?”

“You dropped your underwear.” He held up my (fav. color) underwear. I don’t think I’ve blushed so much in that one day than I have ever in my life. Even when I was trying to sleep, my face was red. He clung to me never wanting to let me go.

I won’t deny that I liked having him sleep with me again.

Months passed since all that happened. We were still traveling on adventures when something happened.

It was nighttime and we decided to watch the Illumise and Volbeat dance their captivating dance above one of the lakes from a flower filled hill under a star filled sky.

“It's so pretty... ”

“Yeah... Though, they may be pretty, but you're more beautiful.” My eyes widened and I turned to him with a slight blush on my face. It took him a moment to turn to me with a serious look and a blush on his face. It was moments like this that made my heart beat faster for him.

“D-Drey, what are you talking about? Did you get hit by a fairy type or something?”

“Nothing of the sort.” He got closer to me until I fell onto my back with him hovering above me.

The angle from my view was a sight to see. I could see Drey's face perfectly, with his crimson eyes staring into mine and his dark hair that framed his face shined as the night sky's stars blend into his hair. I was captivated. I could barely utter a word until I was snapped out of the trance when he had leaned down and put a chaste kiss on my lips. It didn't last long and he immediately pulled away and gotten off of me.

-Drey's POV-

As soon as I moved away, I felt a pang of regret hit me as I realized what I did.

“I'm sorry. I truly am. It's just... I've always wanted to do that since I became human. You'd probably hate me now, but I wanted to tell you this at least. Before we met all those years ago, I was scared and lonely. My original trainer had just hatched me, but I wasn't their expectations, so they released me then and there. I wasn't used to the area so I got lost easily. I had no idea how to even find good food. I was alone... Until you found me. You feed me, trained me, and even gave me a home. With all that kindness, I knew people would take advantage of you, so I wanted to protect you. Then when you were falling from Prism Tower, I was so scared that I would lose you. I wanted to evolve so I could save you. Since then, I had promised myself that I would keep you from harm. I didn't want to lose you.”

“Drey...”

“Then, after I became human and we still continued traveling, I started to feel something. I realized then that the feeling I've been having was something you humans would call “love.” _______.... I will not deny that I love you, and I have been for a while now. But right now I hate myself for taking your first kiss without even having your permission. I wouldn’t blame you for hating me now.” I couldn't even face her now after what I did and I couldn't stop myself from saying everything so far. “I... I'll leave you alone now. I'll get out of your sight now. I don't deserve to be in your presence anymore.” I stood up and turned to leave. She hadn't said much the entire time, so I came to the conclusion that she hated me now. I started walking away from her. Not soon after, I heard the rustling of flowers and suddenly felt arms wrap around me from behind.

“Now you’re the idiot. I hadn't said anything, yet you decided that I hated you? You jump to conclusions so easily. Now listen to me.” She hugged me tighter. “You confess to me, kiss me, and then leave? You didn't even want to hear my reply?” I turned around to face her. Her face was blushing red as her (eye color) eyes stared back into mine. I was waiting for her to speak, but instead she placed her hand on my cheek and pulled me in for a kiss. “I love you, my not so little Deino.”

“I love you too... and I won't let you go again...” I leaned down for another, more passionate, kiss.
